Grooming Integrity & Safety Protocol

Professional Conduct & Education: Certified groomers must uphold the highest standards of honesty and competence. This involves maintaining a safe workspace, accurate record-keeping, and a commitment to ongoing industry education. Professional conduct ensures that every business owner operates with the transparency required of an AGSS accredited authority.

Animal Welfare Expectations: Humane handling is at the core of our principles. Members prioritize stress minimisation through the use of safe tools and climate-controlled environments. Any action that compromises animal wellbeing or safety is strictly prohibited, as the health and security of the animals remain our paramount professional objective.

Client Relations & Compliance: Transparent pricing, clear communication, and informed consent for all Grooming services are mandatory requirements. AGSS members must report all safety incidents immediately. Note that adherence to this Code is a condition of accreditation; documented breaches may result in the immediate suspension or permanent loss of certification status.

Animal Welfare & Ethical Excellence

Founding principles of AGSS accreditation: Ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of every animal.

Ethics define the foundation of the Australian Grooming Safety Standards. Our code ensures that certified businesses operate with a 'safety-first' mindset, putting animal welfare above commercial convenience.

  • Humane Handling: Implementation of low-stress techniques and scientifically backed methods for animal restraint and comfort.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintenance of strict staff conduct standards, including ongoing safety education and meticulous record keeping.
  • Safe Environment: Use of ergonomic tools and facility sanitation that exceeds basic requirements.
  • Client Relations: Clear communication, transparent pricing, and mandatory incident reporting.
  • Compliance: Breaches of these ethical principles directly impact certification status.

Client Relations & Transparency

Trust is the cornerstone of the Australian Grooming Safety Standards. Accredited professionals are expected to maintain clear, honest, and proactive communication with every client.
