AGSS provides safety guidelines, resources, and accreditation frameworks to support groomers, salons, educators, and pet owners. Our standards aim to support:-

5. Safety Standards Disclaimer

AGSS provides safety standards and guidance designed to improve professional practices in the grooming industry. However:-

Groomers and businesses remain responsible for complying with all relevant Australian animal welfare laws and workplace safety regulations.

The use of AGSS standards is voluntary unless adopted by a business or training provider.
6. Professional Conduct and Animal Welfare
Members, affiliates, and certified businesses associated with AGSS agree to:-

Treat all animals humanely and with respect.

Maintain safe grooming environments.

Ensure animals are supervised at all times during grooming procedures.

Use properly maintained grooming equipment.

Follow sanitation and infection control procedures.
These principles align with accepted professional grooming standards prioritizing animal safety, hygiene, and humane handling.
7. Certification and Membership

If AGSS provides certification or membership programs:

Certification does not replace government licensing or regulation.

AGSS reserves the right to suspend or revoke certification if standards are not met.

Members must maintain professional conduct consistent with AGSS guidelines.

Where applicable, additional travel, accommodation, or regional deployment costs may be charged where delivery of certification services requires attendance outside the local service area.
All such costs will be disclosed prior to confirmation and may be charged at actual cost or cost plus an administrative fee, as applicable.
8. Payment Terms
AGSS offers flexible payment options to support grooming businesses of all sizes.
All audit services must be paid in full prior to scheduling and confirmation of an audit date.
Where a payment plan is agreed:

A deposit may be required to commence the payment plan

The remaining balance will be divided into agreed instalments over a short-term period

Instalments must be paid on the agreed dates

The audit will only be scheduled once the full balance has been received
Failure to complete payments:

May result in cancellation of the booking

Any payments made may be non-refundable where administrative work has commenced
AGSS reserves the right to:

Withhold audit scheduling until full payment is received

Decline or cancel payment plans where necessary
All payment arrangements will be confirmed in writing prior to commencement.

9. Use of AGSS Branding
Accredited salons and recognized industry partners may use AGSS logos and branding strictly in accordance with AGSS Logo Usage Guidelines.
Use of AGSS branding must:-

Accurately reflect current accreditation or partnership status

Not be misleading or imply endorsement beyond scope-

Comply with all AGSS guidelines

AGSS reserves the right to request modification or removal of branding where use is deemed inappropriate. Use of branding must cease immediately if accreditation or partnership status is no longer active.
10. Change of Ownership Policy
AGSS certification is granted to the approved business entity under its current ownership and management. Certification is non-transferable and will be void upon change of ownership. New owners are required to reapply for certification and undergo assessment to ensure compliance with current AGSS standards. Founding Salon status is strictly non-transferable and is retained solely by the original founding member.
11. External Links
The AGSS website may include links to external websites for educational purposes. AGSS does not: endorse external websites, guarantee the accuracy of third-party content, or accept responsibility for external information or services.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Australian law: AGSS shall not be liable for injury to animals or individuals, business losses, misuse of grooming equipment, or misinterpretation of published standards. Users apply AGSS standards at their own discretion and risk.

14. Governing Law
